A Tale of Precision and Preparation: A Successful Production Story

Android Developer Story

In this production tale, our success story revolves around a well-planned technical approach. Two weeks before our Seattle shoot, a call from the London agency set the stage for meticulous preparation. Cameras and equipment were scheduled for delivery at Koerner Camera Systems, where our 1st AC had a full day to prepare, benefiting from Koerner's technical support.

Location logistics ran seamlessly as the client chose one of three Peerspace locations I recommended in Ballard. An enjoyable surprise at the house was a hi-fi stereo and turntable, adding a touch of nostalgia with 1970s American music as our sound track for set up time.

The interview setup featured two ARRI cameras and vintage super speed lenses for a softer visual. The lighting was anchored by an ARRI s-60, harmonizing with the natural light through windows. Sound was recorded on the Sound Devices 833, and our gear was neatly organized on Inovativ carts.

Our shotlist centered on device and app details and the Android Developer herself. To create a cozy morning atmosphere, our crew ensured the constant steaming of the on-set coffee cup. The camera operator captured handheld b-roll with a shoulder-mounted Amira, while the Dana Dolly provided additional dynamic shots.

With the day winding down, director Jessica Palarozza had to catch her evening flight back to London. Efficient media management allowed us to place the SSD in her hands shortly after wrapping. Despite the brevity of the day, our client was pleased with the results, making this production story a testament to our well-executed technical strategy. The video is here.
