Baco Music - Clinton Fearon Video
I recently had the distinct pleasure of serving as the Director of Photography on a music video project that was quite extraordinary. The work was in service of the legendary Reggae artist Clinton Fearon, and the experience was imbued with a richness and authenticity that fully aligned with expectations for an artist of his stature.
In collaboration with Nils Cowan, the film's director, and the proficient team from Hemlock Productions LLC, we endeavored to create a visual narrative that would not only accentuate Clinton Fearon's compelling presence but also complement the diverse musical essence of Baco Music.
The location selected was a rooftop of a parking structure, which afforded us natural light and the cityscape as a backdrop. Our equipment included an 18-foot crane and an aerial camera, which together enabled us to capture the expansive and immersive shots envisioned. Interior scenes were filmed at the University District Production Facility, a setting that provided the desired ambiance for the studio sequences.
The philosophy of Baco Music, which emphasizes the storytelling of life's narratives, with humor and awareness, resonated deeply with the project's aim. Our contribution felt akin to adding a unique narrative to Baco Music's ongoing Havana Meets Kingston series, a project that intertwines the rich musical heritages of Cuba and Jamaica.
