"MACKIE – Unleashing Sonic Brilliance: Product Launch Campaign"
Launching MACKIE's latest innovation wasn't just about filming a product—it was about capturing the essence of sound that thrills the soul. Each of the six thirty-second spots we created was a symphony of visuals, aimed to resonate as powerfully as the products themselves. As the Director of Photography, my canvas was as varied as the legendary Crocodile venue in Seattle to the controlled environment of a studio set. Working alongside Director Jason Reid and Producer Adam Brown, we orchestrated a visual experience that paralleled MACKIE's auditory excellence.
Employing C300ii cameras paired with Angenieux Zoom Lenses, we captured the expansive energy of music. The Laowa 24mm macro allowed us to delve into the exquisite detail of MACKIE's craftsmanship, while the fluidity of Dana Dolly camera movements mirrored the experience of using MACKIE products. My role was to lead our team through the maze of technicalities—from lighting that complemented each location's vibe to lens choices that told a story in every frame.
At the Crocodile, amidst the rich history of Seattle's music scene, we had to achieve the perfect take during an actual live performance. It was a high-pressure situation where my knack for anticipating the moment and improvising with camera angles turned a one-shot opportunity into a spot that MACKIE fans would remember. It was these instances, testing my ability to blend technical expertise and within-the-moment creativity, that defined the success of this campaign.
